Having originally specialised in equipment finance and commercial property finance, partnering with FAST enabled Kel to strengthen and broaden his overall commercial offering.
“We can offer our clients everything from equipment finance right through to overdrafts, as well as their commercial property, their cash flow lending... anything to do with their business. It’s all available through the FAST platform,” he says.
“Being a FAST broker makes a big difference when it comes to getting deals over the line. When I deal with a bank, especially a new bank, they know I understand commercial lending because I’m a FAST broker.”
Since joining FAST, Kel’s total loan book has grown five-fold. He’s been honoured with a raft of achievements, including Bankwest #1 broker 2006 and FAST #1 broker 2008. More recently, Kel was recognised as a Diamond Broker with CBA for both 2014 and 2015.
“All these achievements are the result of my partnering with FAST; their introductions to these lenders, together with the encouragement and support they’ve provided,” Kel says.
In addition to strengthening Kel’s commercial and business offering, FAST has supported Kel to expand his offering to meet clients’ broader needs, including home loans, which now account for around 20% of his loan book.
“FAST offered me encouragement and gave me the contacts and tools to offer my clients the full range of lending,” he says.
Capital Fusion’s commercial offering now accounts for around 40% of the business revenue, while residential financing accounts for around 60%. In the past two years, this expansion has seen Julio double the business revenue.
“Diversification is crucial in the current market. It brings new opportunities while maintaining existing clients. FAST has provided the channels I need in order to be able to offer my clients, and referral partners, different funding solutions,” he says.
